Emerging Europe M&A activity in H1’22 declined 2.6% y-o-y to 1,020 deals while the total value of transactions rose 16.1% y-o-y to EUR 52.9bn
After the shocking start to the year due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the M&A activity in Emerging Europe began recovering in the second quarter with the market totalling 524 transactions for over EUR 30bn for April-June. For the first six months of 2022, the volume was still down by 2.6% y-o-y (1,020 deals), however, large transactions in Russia and Turkey lifted the aggregate value to almost EUR 53bn.
